Describe your personal style.... Houston, we have a problem!

¿Cómo describiría mi estilo personal? No tengo idea...
How will I describe my personal style? I have no idea...

I like a lot of styles like the preppy, efforless chic, ladylike, lately I have been obsesed with the parisian chic and since I don't know when I like the style of the clothing from the 70s...

I always end up dressing and buying clothes according to the style I'm obsessed at the moment (like now I'm obsesed with the parisian style) and I think it shouldn't be that way, at my age I should have defined my style already so I have started wondering... Whats my style?! Do I have style at all?!

Years ago I took an image course and I loved it! There I learned the colors that are more flattering according to my skin tone and hair, the shapes of the clothes for my body type and also learned to apply make up according to my face, etc, etc. I remember after the course I applyed all the tips I learned and did smart shopping but with time I let the fashion industry influence again in my decisions and I end up like before I took the course, shopping by impulse and not smatly.

So I decided to look up for my notes from the course and start fresh... I came up with the idea that could be fun documenting this process on my blog to share what I learned in the course with you guys and any other things I find on the process because maybe it could be helpful to somebody else.

So expect more posts about personal style in my blog, hope you like it.

The weather has been cold these days here in Monterey so I just realize we haven't bought any scarf for Cesar, so I decide to make one.

I had this old sweater in my closet so I decide use it to make the scarf.

Here are the steps, it's very simple.

1. Cortar el torso del suéter. Cut the length of the sweater
Fold until you get the desired width.
Make some stitches on the sides and that's all

¿Qué le pareció? What do you think?

How to: Get Vintage Curls

Here is the tutorial I promise you in the previous post.

I have used this hairstyle in some weddings, it is very simple so I wanted to share it with you.

To get this hairstyle you only need bobby pins, hair mousse and a brush.

The fist step is to dry your hair and then brush it.

When your hair is completly dry start making curls in all the hair and fix them with the bobby pins (images 1-5). All this steps can be done the night before if you don`t want to use the dryer., to make curls take a little portion of your hair from the ends, apply hair mousse and start rolling until the top, then fix it with one or two bobby pins to the scalp. If you do this steps the night before you will not need to use the dryer.

If you are not sure how to curl your hair with bobby pins check this video.

When all the hair is dry you start taking out all the bobby pins one by one (image 6) and just use your fingers to place your hair in the way you want it and that`s all.

I have used this procedure on my hair with different longs, all following the same steps.

I think the shorter the better, also is easier to do it in short than in long hair.

Which one you do you prefeer, long or short hair?

The idea of this new section came up to me since sometimes I see items that looks easy to DIY with some tutorials I already saw in other blogs... so let´s see what do you think.

Let´s start with this black hearted items, because not everything in Valentines must be red right?

Images from: 1. Pinterest 2. Lalamagic 3. ModCloth 4. Etsy
Items 1 and 3 could be done following the instructions showed in Love + Cupcakes.

Item no. 2 could be easily made with a white shirt and adding some hand stamped hearts as the girls from A Beautiful Mess show us.

The bowl from image number 4 could be made following the isntructions from the blog Wit & Whistle, adding hearts with the tape instead of covering the top part as Amanda show in her DIY.

I hope this ideas encourage you to DIY.

Saludos,
Clau!
